My Background

I am currently a PhD Candidate supervised by Prof. Henning Müller working on the HEREDITARY project funded by the Horizon Europe research and innovation program. I hold a bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). From the work started in my bachelor’s thesis I published my first paper in the Diagnostics journal called Link-level functional connectivity neuroalterations in autism spectrum disorder: a developmental resting-state fMRI study.  After living more than 2 years abroad I started the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Medical Imaging and Applications (MAIA) at the Universitat de Girona (UdG), Université de Bourgogne (uB) and Università degli studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale (UNICAS) with an Erasmus grant. My master's thesis with Prof. Henning Müller working at the HES-SO Valais Wallis focused on developing an AI model for a lung cancer sub-type classification task using self-supervision for pre-training and weakly-supervised learning for training using lung histopathology images.

My Research Interests

I am interested in using Machine Learning techniques to train AI models in order to develop tools that could assist clinicians in diagnosing and treating neurodegenerative diseases. I have worked with medical images before, and now I want to combine this knowledge with sequencing and clinical data. The idea is to develop AI models that can help the scientific community understand neurodegenerative diseases better.
